ANN SHIER
Biography
Ann Shier is an accomplished Toronto-based artist specializing in encaustic painting, an art form that involves stirring pigments into molten wax and then applying it to the surface of the support. Her studies in fine arts, combined with her work as a potter and formal training as a graphic artist, influence her encaustic work. Over the past six years, Ann has left her artistic imprint on a wide range of spaces, including private collections in Canada, the United States and the UK.
Ann pursued fine arts studies at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also studied English Literature at Ryerson University in Toronto and Communication Design at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
